Ilon Silversmith: Chapter Two

Last time, Ilon learned a little about the girls next door. They're throwing a party and his new buddies Marc and Kent are taking him along. Now it's time for the party and he's about to meet someone special. Kent's about to learn some news about someone important to him, will he be able to take it?

I stood alone where everyone was hanging out. Looking around I could see that everyone was already getting situated into being here.

Marc was flirting with the girl he'd been telling me so much about, Marisa. I smiled as Marc tried to come up with a flirty joke, only to have Marisa laughing at his attempt.

Kent was already holding his girl friend Shellie close, never leaving her. She was supposed to of been at drama practice, but it was cancelled due to someone releasing frogs into the auditorium. Turns out it was Shellie and Kent who'd brought the frogs in, one hundred jumping frogs from the swap area of town.

Paul, one of the students at my school, was even there. He had his eyes on one of the twins, Virginia. There was other girls there too, but they were all talking in their little huddle, talking about me while I was watching.

"Look at that boy over there," the twin of Virginia exclaimed first, "Isn't he cute? He even has some muscles!"
"Get over him Casandra!" the blonde of the group told her, "He's so not your material! Look at that hair and that skin! Ewww! I wouldn't want to have that hair and skin for nothing! Not only that, but that hat doesn't go with anything he is wearing! He's so uncool looking! I bet he's a jerk as well."
"But Lyndsay-"
"Do you want to be part of my cliche or not?" She threatened the girl, "Cause I can find someone else who would gladly take your place if you don't want to."
"No Lyndsay, I want to be part of the group. I'll stay away from him."
"Good girl! Now, where is Cesar? I've been needing to speak to him about his girl friend."
Cesar had a girl friend?, I thought to myself, I wonder who she-

Out of the blue, I saw someone walk into the room that caught my attention. She sat on the couch and looked around the room, looking for someone, her ginger hair in a ponytail, swaying back and forth when she turned her head. As she turned her spring leaf green eyes my way, my heart jumped from the were sight of her looking at me, and she wasn't taking her eyes off me. I couldn't take my eyes off of her, she was an angel of beauty.

After overcoming the shock wave of seeing her, I finally took a move. I walked over to her, sitting right beside her on the couch and smiled.
"Hey, I'm-"
"Don't tell me," she cut me off, "You're Ilon."
"How did you know?"
She smiled, showing her crimson white teeth at me, "Kent comes over here a lot. He tells me the latest on what's happening over at Hell's Playground. So how are you liking Babcock?"
"I hate him, everyone does except Cesar. If Babcock was the evil ruler over humanity, Cesar would be his minion."
"My boy friend can be a jerk sometimes and a bit of a show off yes. He's not that bad once you get to know him." She didn't seem to sure about what she was saying though.
Cesar was this girl's boy friend? He didn't deserve her! He could already tell  that she was wasting her time with him "I already have and I do't think I want to get to know him any better."
She laughed at what I said. Her laugh was so unreal, I'd only dreamed of a laugh that could make me stop in my tracks. If this girl was trying to cast a spell of love over me, it was working. Then two people sat across from us on the other couch, kissing each other, it was Cesar and Lyndsay.

The girl next to me got up and walked over to Cesar, "What are you doing-"
"Do you hear something sweetie?" Lyndsay asked Cesar, interrupting the girl's question.
"No one important," he answered Lyndsay, then both of them looked the girl straight in the eye, "You got all that Megan?"
The girl's eyes started to water, "How could you Cesar!"
"Face it Megan," Lyndsay told her, "Cesar and I are perfect for each other. Your just some measly scholarship girl, isn't that right honey pie?"
"That's right, so why don't you get lost. I have a girl friend to get to." He then turned back toward Lyndsay and started to smooch her.

After learning the girls name, I remembered Kent talking to me about her. Megan Shaffer, a girl who wanted to go into politics and loved helping other. She was paying her own way to go to this all girls prep school with some help from scholarship money she received from the school for being above the average public school student, which she was. She always managed to get the best grades and never got into trouble, although Kent explained that she wasn't perfect like the teachers thought. She'd tried a few drugs like me, but she never went any further than to try them, and she doesn't plan to do them ever again.
"She's one of the most amazing girls you will ever meet," Kent had told me, "Almost everything she does is for a good reason, and usually not for herself."
Megan was a great girl, but Cesar apparently didn't care.

Megan scurried into the dinning room, trying to hold her tears. I didn't know what to do. What had she done for Cesar to do that to her? From what I'd learned so far about him, it wasn't a good enough reason for a terrible break up like that. I knew from what Kent told me that Megan didn't deserve it.

"Megan," I said as I found her, in a corner crying, "Are you okay?"
"No," she said turning toward me, "What did I ever do to deserve this! I did everything he asked me to and he just tosses me away."
"It's his lose, not yours. It's his fault for not realizing how amazing you are,"
"You don't know what I've done though-"
"I know that Kent thinks your great, and if he thinks someone's a good person, then they are."
"Kent's a good friend, too bad I left him for Cesar. I doubt he'll want to speak to me."
"I don't think that's the case here. I've gotten to know Kent real well this week, and if I've learned anything about him, it takes a lot to become his friend, and it takes a lot for him to stop being friends with someone."
"That's Kent alright," she explained, "He really knows how to pick his friends. He's told me a lot about you, and I have a feeling he's told you a lot about me."
"Yep," I answered, "He has, but I'm curious. What has he said about me?"

"Oh, that you were a no good trouble maker who always seems to find a way out of things, or into them," she told me, raising her eyebrows sarcastically, "And that you were smoking hot, well... no he didn't but it's true."
My eyes went wide, did she just tell me I was hot?
I shook my surprised look off my face and gave her the best flirtatious look I could do, "Oh really, he didn't tell me you were a goddess, but here you are, shinning your heart warming beauty down on me."
"Oh, so your comparing me to a goddess now are you?"
"I'm trying to come up with something more creative, but I can't stop looking at you."
She laughed once again, waiting for me to say something else, but nothing came out. I was lost for words and so was she.

After a second or two, she leaned in toward my face, and placed her lips on mine. I went into a love coma, unaware of anything else around me. Time seemed to slow down as I wrapped my arms around her waist, pulling her warm body to mine, her doing likewise. Of all the spells she's put on me that night, her kiss was the unbreakable one.

We stayed in that room for the rest of the party, alone the whole time, not a care in the world. Even when everyone but Kent went home or to bed, we still wouldn't let go.
"Hello, earth to Megan and Ilon!" Kent interrupted us, trying to get our attention, but it wasn't working. We couldn't hear or see him.
He walked over to us and pinched both of us on the arm.
We let go and gave Kent a scowl, "What was that for Kent!" Megan asked him.
"Let's see, it's one in the morning. You two went into this room about eleven thirty. I've been trying to get you two to stop without ruining the moment for you, but you were both off in La La Land. The head lady is back but Shellie and Marisa made sure she didn't come in and see you two about ten minutes ago. All the guests left at midnight besides Ilon and I, you see why now?"

I looked back at Megan, still holding her close to me, "I guess I have to go."
"Ilon, please, don't forget me, don't leave me for another girl like Cesar did" she told me, tears forming in her eyes again, "I've never met someone I wanted to be with so much."
I shook my head, then gave her a quick peck on the cheek, "I'm not going to leave you after being with you tonight. Like you said, I've never been with someone I'd wanted to be with this much," I let go of her waist and held her hands, "This might be a little early to say this, but I love you. All I want is to be your's. Please Megan, I have to know if you feel the same, will you be my girl friend?"
"Yes Ilon, I'll be your girl. I love you too." She She kissed me one last time, letting me go and sending me after Kent, who'd left a minute ago after telling me I had to go.

As I walked up the steps to Hell's Playground, Kent busted through the door, a river of tears from his eyes.
"Kent, what wrong?" I asked him as he ran passed me and across the street, "Where are you going?"
"Anywhere but here!" He finally answered, not looking back, "I've had it with this place! I've had it with Babcock!" And with that, he ran down the hill toward town.

I walked through the door to find Babcock looking at me. What did he want now?
"Kent, I've been told you've been sneaking out to the boarding house for the prep school," he said walking over to me, "And that you've been seeing a certain girl, someone named Shellie?"
What, how did he find out? I looked over Babcock's shoulder to find Cesar giving me his evil grin.
"You!," I yelled pointing at Cesar, "You son of a-"
"Don't go pointing fingers at anyone here. You're the one who's at fault here-" Babcock tried to explain. Cesar laughed as he walked up the stairs to the bedroom.
"No! I am not! Cesar is a worthless scum! Going out with Megan and cheating on her right in front of her with Lyndsay, both from the prep school! You think what I've been doing is wrong? Cesar is a crime against humanity, and so are you!"

"I'm not the son of a rock star would thinks the world revolves around her! You're just as heartless are your mother, no discipline for authority!"
"Why should I listen to you when your cheating on my mom, and with the head lady of the boarding house for the Prep school of all things!" everything went quiet, fire seemed to swell up in Babcock's eyes after I'd blurted out what I knew about him.
"That's none of your concern. I can sleep with whoever I want to, whenever I want to," he yelled at me, trying to restrain his hands from my neck it might seem, "Besides, I'm not cheating on your stupid mother anymore."
"What do you mean, did she divorce you or something?"
"No, she's dead! I just got a call fifty minutes ago! She was drunk, passed out and fell into the bay in the city she was going to be preforming in the next night."

"Your lying!" I screamed at him, starting to hold back my tears. My mother wasn't dead, she couldn't be.
"You want me to turn on the radio?" he yelled back at me, "Maybe find a TV and turn on any channel? It's everywhere! Ruby And The Eagles lead singer is dead! Your mother's not shinning for the crowds or flying up the charts anymore! She's a goner, just like your dad-"
"My dad's not gone! He's not dead, he's only disappeared on the battle front. He will come back!"
"Fat chance! Besides, are you really that dumb? There is no possible way your father could still be alive! At least your mother was smart enough to know he wasn't coming back, now you need to realize the truth as well-"
"No..." the tears started to fall out of my eyes as I started to back up away from Babcock, "He's still alive, I know it."
"No he isn't, you're going to learn this one way or another, now that I'm your only guardian."
"You will never be in charge of me! I will never let you!" With that, I opened the door to the outside and ran as fast as I could.
My parent's aren't dead, especially dad. I know he's alive, no matter what everyone tells me. He's alive, and just waiting to be found.
